Biomimicry– noun; the copying or imitation of a natural phenomenon’s or environment’s efficiency and survival mechanisms in manufacturing processes or in applied case-based reasoning.
Been thinking about how animals and humans imitate other things in nature. It popped into my brain when I found this leaf on the screened-in-porch:
But it’s not a leaf at all. It’s some kind of moth or something.
(S)He looks so poised here:
It reminds me of some military vehicle. It looks like it is armored. And it has good camouflage.
After a little research, I’ve come to the conclusion that it is a moth of the Smerinthus genus. A Hawk Moth.
