First Friday Opening at The Bridge PAI

Common Objects = Art in “Domestic Alchemy” by Will Mullany, Amanda Wagstaff, and Chicho Lorenzo

During the months of July and August, I participated in a collaborative artist residency at The Bridge Progressive Art Initiative in Charlottesville with fellow artists Will Mullany and Chicho Lorenzo. The result of our collaboration is “Domestic Alchemy,” an interactive art installation that encourages audience members to question the distinction between domestic and exhibition space, reexamine the rules of the “gallery space,” and find creative potential in familiar household objects.

The installation will be officially unveiled during First Friday, September 2 from 5:30-7:30pm in downtown Charlottesville. Potter’s Craft Cider will be there, too!

All winter long, I’ve been chipping away at a new addition to All Flesh Is Grass. “S A Y” is finally finished.

Threads were snipped and carefully pulled out to form the letters:

Art on Paper 2017

I am so excited to announce that my embroidered envelopes, Casa Illuminata, are included in Art of Paper 2017 at the Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro, NC. If you find yourself in Greensboro this summer, stop by to see the exhibition. I am flattered to be showing work alongside so many artists that I admire!
